In 2024, in an economic environment under pressure from inflation, unstable interest rates and weak growth, La Banque Postale rolled out a comprehensive transformation plan across all its business lines and subsidiaries. It has three watchwords: prioritise, cooperate, and manage. La Banque Postale is acting swiftly to renew its growth momentum, refocus on its core business and introduce a value-driven management model drawing on shared expertise, to create performance synergies.

What does it mean to be a citizen bank?

Since its creation in 2006, La Banque Postale, which inherited La Poste’s financial services, has uniquely expressed its energy, responsibilities, values and community ambition.

A bank like any other and unlike any other, this is how La Banque Postale defined itself at the time of its creation, promising to be “much more than a bank”. Over the years, it has provided widespread access to banking services, expanded its offer to include the full range of retail banking products and services, and given shape to its community engagement policy. Today’s environmental and societal emergency is affecting everyone. 2023-2024 integrated report

In 2023, the rise in interest rates and the mortgage crisis weighed on La Banque Postale’s business. The deviation from its financial trajectory prompted a change in governance and opened up a new phase of transformation. Becoming the leader in impact finance remains the guiding objective, and returning to break‑even is the priority. At 18 years of age, La Banque Postale has entered adulthood with the enthusiasm of its youth.
