Stéphane Zakarian graduated from the École Normale Supérieure and the École Nationale Supérieure des Postes & Télécommunications. He is an agrégé in Economics and Management and holds a DEA in Economics and International Finance from Sciences Po Paris. After beginning his career in education, he joined La Poste’s Procurement Department in 1998, before moving to the Group Management Control Department.
Following an operational experience as Departmental Director for the Mayenne and Sarthe regions, he led the transformation of La Poste Group’s Finance functions in 2005, before being appointed Finance Director of the Post Office Network in 2007. In this capacity, he oversaw the transformation roadmap for the postal network and the implementation of SAP.
In 2012, he became Chief Financial and Administrative Officer of La Banque Postale Consumer Finance, where he contributed to the development of this new subsidiary. In 2016, he joined the Human Resources Department of La Banque Postale, the postal network and financial services as Director of HR Management and Transformation, where he led several high-impact transformation programmes.
At the end of 2019, he was appointed Deputy Director of the Western Network (Brittany, Normandy, Centre-Val de Loire and Pays de la Loire regions), where he oversaw the commercial development and modernisation of the postal and banking network, in compliance with the applicable risk and regulatory framework.
At the end of 2023, he joined La Banque Postale’s Executive Management team as Chief Financial Officer and Director of Strategic Management and General Affairs for Retail Banking. He is a member of La Banque Postale’s Development Committee.
Stéphane Zakarian has held several corporate directorships and currently serves as a Director of La Banque Postale Consumer Finance and Ma French Bank.
