La Banque Postale acquires Groupe BPCE’s 16.1% stake in CNP Assurances
La Banque Postale announced today that it has acquired for 2.4 billion euros the entire stake of Groupe BPCE in CNP Assurances, representing 16.1% of the capital, at the price of 21.90 euros per share (cum dividend). This operation follows the press release of October 28. With this acquisition, La Banque Postale's stake in CNP Assurances is now 78.9%.
La Banque Postale fait l’acquisition de la participation de 16,1% de BPCE dans CNP Assurances. Les deux groupes réaffirment leur projet de rationaliser leurs liens capitalistiques et renforcer leurs partenariats industriels.
La Banque Postale annonce ce jour avoir acquis pour 2,4 milliards d’euros la totalité des 16,1% du capital de CNP Assurances détenus par le Groupe BPCE au prix de 21,90 euros par action (dividende attaché). Cette opération fait suite au communiqué de presse du 28 octobre dernier. A la suite de cette acquisition, la participation de La Banque Postale dans CNP Assurances est désormais de 78,9%.

Standard & Poor's has updated La Banque Postale's rating following the announcement of its plan to acquire the shares it does not already own in CNP Assurances. La Banque Postale, a “core” entity of Le Groupe La Poste, has had its Issuer Credit Rating (ICR) raised by one notch to A+, with a stable outlook, further to the alignment of its ICR with that of its parent company, in application of Standard & Poor's methodology.

L’agence de notation Standard & Poor’s a mis à jour la notation de La Banque Postale suite au projet annoncé par celle-ci d’acquérir les actions de CNP Assurances non encore détenues. La Banque Postale, entité « core » du Groupe La Poste, voit sa notation finale (Issuer Credit Rating ou ICR) rehaussée d’un cran à A+, sous l’effet d’un alignement de son ICR avec celui de sa maison mère, conformément à la méthodologie Standard & Poor’s. Cette notation est assortie d’une note de perspective Stable.

La Banque Postale, a public banking group, and Groupe BPCE are planning to streamline and simplify all their shareholding and industrial partnerships. As initiated by LBP, both parties have signed a memorandum of understanding, subject to obtaining the necessary authorizations from the competent regulatory authorities for insurance or, as applicable, asset management activities or for merger control, and subject to works councils’ consultation process.
